Company Profile
Since 1990, Myers Media has been a prominent name in the public relations industry as a leader in the marketing and communications for musical artists, concert tours, corporate based media relations, awards shows, television programs, and festivals.

At Myers Media, implementing a campaign is more than just “spreading the word.” Our goal is not only bringing a person, object, or occurrence into the public eye, but creating a long lasting impression that influences people to take action, whether it means thinking about a cause, participating in an event, or purchasing merchandise.

Public Relations

By working as a creative task force, our firm brings the right mix of talent, skills, and synergy while extending influence for a wide range of clientele. We’ve made an indelible mark on the music scene, from the multi-Grammy Award winning Bonnie Raitt, and Alison Krauss, to the progressive jazz/rock of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ruth Brown, Americana upstart Junior Brown, and a roster of artists that transverse genres such as Sheila E, Kelly Willis, and Yo-Yo Ma, among others. Myers Media has also been instrumental in the success of the United States Postal Service’s entertainment oriented stamp issues and education programs for kids and adults as it related to their “Celebrate The Century” program.

Marketing

Integrated marketing is another facet of Myers Media. Whether our mission is to revitalize a subject’s presence, or create a buzz about something new, we initiate strategic tie-ins by pairing companies, products, charitable organizations, and/or services that share a common goal. Our creation of national and regional campaigns have increased awareness and garnered recognition by defining a niche for excellence.

Background

Prior to forming Myers Media, Joan Myers, the firm’s principal, was Associate Director of Media and Artist Relations for Capitol Records. In the 1980s, Ms. Myers played a key role in the development and growth of MTV. As assistant to Les Garland, then Vice-President of Programming, and later as part of the promotions and talent logistics departments, she built promotions and secured artists such as Mick Jagger and Stevie Nicks for ad campaigns. Before joining MTV, Joan Myers worked in publicity and promotions for Warner Bros. Records and Mahoney/Wasserman & Associates, where she served as the on-the road media liaison for the Rolling Stones on their 1981 World Tour.
